The inaugural EDRR was a flagship event of the 5·12 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Awareness Week across the Yangtze River Delta. With the theme "Emergency Disaster Reduction & Rescue — Safeguarding Economic and Social Development in the New Era," the expo went hybrid, offering both physical and online experiences. It brought together the latest technologies and products from across the emergency sector. Alongside the main exhibition, the program featured a keynote summit, the launch ceremony for the Awareness Week, 11 professional forums, 8 public education events, and a cross-regional joint water rescue drill.
By the numbers: 52,000 sqm of exhibition space, 435 domestic exhibitors, and 67,598 professional visitors—over 40% from government safety and emergency agencies. Total media coverage surpassed 50 million views.

The second edition took on a broader scope—"Full-Spectrum Disasters, Comprehensive Emergency Response." The expo delivered a rich mix of exhibitions, conferences, activities, and public education programs, covering everything from disaster prevention and rescue equipment to safety products, industry services, public awareness campaigns, and emergency management case studies. On-site, 17 forums and conferences ran alongside more than 60 enterprise pitch sessions, tackling topics ranging from building and chemical safety to nuclear and radiation safety, smart cities, and mining.
By the numbers: 80,000 sqm of exhibition space, 615 exhibitors from China and abroad, and 81,612 professional visits. Media coverage continued to build momentum, driving total online exposure steadily upward.
- EDRR 2024 | May 13–15, 2024 | Advancing High-Level Safety to Safeguard High-Quality Development
The third edition was built around three strategic pillars: driving coordinated regional emergency management, accelerating the growth of China's safety and emergency industry, and pioneering innovative governance models. Around 500 exhibitors took part—including 67 listed companies, 32 Global 500/China 500 enterprises, and 169 "specialized and sophisticated" SMEs. Over 90% were high-tech or technology-driven companies, with a strong presence from low-altitude economy, smart manufacturing, industrial internet, and robotics.
A new procurement information platform made its debut, connecting buyers and sellers through a "pre-match, on-site matchmaking, post-show deployment" model. The expo also saw the launch of the Yangtze River Delta Aviation Emergency Rescue Industry Alliance, expanding the real-world applications of emergency response.
By the numbers: 60,000 sqm of exhibition space, 532 exhibitors, and nearly 80,000 professional visitors. Post-show surveys recorded an exhibitor satisfaction rate of 79.3%, an event service satisfaction rate of 86.7%, and 83.5% of exhibitors already planning to return for the next edition.

The fourth edition marked a clear shift toward a more market-driven, professional, and internationally focused event. For the first time, the expo introduced dedicated zones for aviation emergency rescue and water emergency rescue, spotlighting general aviation aircraft, intelligent drones, water rescue robots, and AI-powered early warning systems. The event also brought Intersec Shanghai to the city, adding a new dimension to the public safety conversation.
More than 500 top-tier companies from nearly 20 countries and regions exhibited. State-owned heavyweights like NORINCO and XCMG brought their signature equipment, while industry leaders including CETC, COMAC, and Unitree unveiled show-stopping innovations—from AI inspection robots to next-generation autonomous systems. A total of 120 breakthrough products made their global or Asian debut.

The fifth edition was strategically aligned with the emergency management priorities of the 15th Five-Year Plan, offering a full-spectrum view of the "New Quality Productive Forces" reshaping China's safety and emergency landscape. The show floor was organized into six core zones—Disaster Prevention & Reduction, Rescue Equipment, Safety Protective Products, Industry Services, Public Education, and Emergency Management Innovation—covering the entire value chain. Four specialized zones—Chemical Safety, Aviation Emergency Rescue, Specialized Robotics, and Water Safety—were further strengthened, moving beyond traditional static displays to create immersive, hands-on demonstration environments. Industry leaders including AutoFlight, Zhongchuang Aviation, and Jingxuan Technology showcased their latest solutions. Hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the expo drew over 500 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries and regions, and welcomed 80,202 professional visits—a year-on-year increase of 29.13%.

The exhibition was structured around six core zones—Disaster Prevention & Reduction, Rescue Equipment, Safety Products, Industry Services, Public Education, and Emergency Management Innovation—offering a complete view of the emergency management ecosystem. Four specialized zones—Chemical Safety, Aviation Emergency Rescue, Robotics, and Water Safety—were also expanded, transforming the show floor from a static display into a dynamic, scenario-driven platform.
Technology Takes Center Stage
Innovation was the defining thread running through this year's expo. AI-driven emergency management, low-altitude economy solutions, specialized robotics, and next-generation communications were everywhere on the floor. AutoFlight unveiled its land-air integrated low-altitude economy solution. Zhongchuang Aviation showcased its ZC series tandem-rotor unmanned helicopters. Jingxuan Technology launched APS, an intelligent positioning system that blends indoor and outdoor precision—a powerful demonstration of how AI and sensing are reshaping safety management. Humanoid robots, full-coverage early warning systems, and space-air-ground integrated rescue equipment were among the most talked-about innovations of the show.
